Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and
Rural Development (MARD) on March 16 officially launched three new
administrative agencies, namely the General Department of Forestry,
Irrigation and Seafood.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime
Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung underlined the importance of MARD's
restructuring, saying that the three areas are of great importance to
the whole agricultural sector.
The three new administrative
agencies will be tasked with building and developing the vital field of
agricultural production in a more comprehensive and professional way,
he said.
The Deputy PM emphasised that the most important task for
MARD is to build a modern agriculture industry capable of mass
production and to develop a skilled labour force for it.
Personnel for the three agencies has been put in place with 46 new appointments.
